What next?

**SPOILERS**

I don't know the source material...just finished watching the movie. There are some loose ends and I'm wondering if they're addressed in the book. Mainly, did Corrine and the grandmother seriously get away with all that evil behavior? Did the kids get them arrested? Maybe the inheritance was passed on to Chris & Cathy? Also, what happened to Chris & Cathy once they got to Florida? Did they remain incestuous or were they able to heal and move on to normal relationships? And the female twin (forgot her name)...seems like she'd have serious issues as a result of the situation and seeing her brother die. Is it ever explained what happened to her?

Do you want the answers pertaining from the next movie, or from the book series? Mostly the same either way but there's subtle differences.

The brother and sister never become normal. Their weird feelings are always there, and at the end of Petals (at least in the movie, I think in the books too) they decide to live the incestuous life. And a life of lies too.

*Book and film spoilers*

Corrine and the Grandmother DID get away with what they did. From a legal standpoint anyway. Cathy never forgave though and got her revenge eventually. The inheritance ended up passing to one of Cathy's sons, Bart (who was fathered by her mother's husband with the same name).

Chris and Cathy never went to Florida, they ended up in South Carolina. They tried to stay apart, but their feelings never went away and, as one other poster said, eventually they decided to live together as husband and wife.

Carrie, the female twin, ended up killing herself the same way Cory died (eating poisoned donuts) because her mother rejected her when she went up to her on a street. She had a hard life because of her size and never seemed to be truly happy.
