Grandmother has issues
That grandmother is ridiculous! I can't believe the kids didn't try to escape (or escape sooner) or that their mother let herself be so cowed by her own mother like that.
shareI think any kids would be intimidated by a woman who had just literally whipped their mother. And Corinne knew not to underestimate the cruelty of either of her parents. If she stood up to them she would not inherit and that money was all she cared about.
shareYes, the grandmother was very intimidating, especially when she's shown in her room basically looking like a skeleton with a few strands of hair growing out of her skull. Chris and Cathy were strong teens. They easily could have beat the old bag senseless and then pushed her off the roof. And what was the grandpa going to do? Miraculously get out of his Rascal scooter and come after them? He was half-dead.
Crappily written story and movie.
Very badly written. That is why they added the unnecessarily gross incest to "set it apart." Just pointless.
