EXCELLENT blog post!!!!! i can remember reading the book when it first came out, it was so amazing. I had to buy each sequel.....

That's a very thorough blog post. I actually think that the 1987 version and this TV movie version are neck and neck for the honours. I think that both are worth watching again. As for any cuts that may exist from the 1987 version, I don't think I want to see them. Both versions managed to avoid making the subject matter too explicit.
