Uninteresting bad guy. I guessed what was really going on very early.

"Hardcore Henry" has more action in it than any other film this year. That can be good, and in this case it is mostly good, but you will be dizzy after a bit and honestly, I had it pretty much figured out what was really going on in the first half hour. This is a different kind of movie. It is shot as the main character in a first person shooter game. You see the arms and legs, etc, but not the face of the character. YOU are the character in other words. What was tiring it sure seemed almost the entire population of Russia was after this cat. They came out of the woodwork to try to kill Henry. So there are more dead bodies than just about anything short of a war movie. Henry - you - awake from some harsh trauma unable to speak. Your wife helps you a bit and then the bad guys come for you and her. Henry has no idea what is going on or who to trust. He comes across this guy who seemingly is steering him in the right direction, but can he trust him completely? It played just like a video game. If you are a gamer and love games like this then you will believe this may be the best movie of the year. If you are like me and not a gamer then this will lack in everything else but the action. For one the bad guy just wasn't too interesting. He can move things with his mind...and that was pretty much it. You cannot really say that people have never seen anything like this because like I said if you play video games then you HAVE seen things exactly like this. So, if you are a gamer and love first person shooters then this is for you. For the rest of you...and me, this is a rental at best. Haley Bennett was fine as the wife. A strong ** 1/2 out of 4 stars.
