Damn nearly perfect movie with such a low budget.

This movie had its flaws. I could notice a few tiny editing imperfections and the story wasn't the most original or creative, although I found it pretty interesting. But for a budget of 2 million, I can't believe how good it was.

My favorite movie of this year is probably going to be Deadpool. And that's because when I was watching it I felt like they got really wild and used the full potential of CGI and effects in general in action sequences. That's something that I also noticed in Hardcore Henry. There's just so much creativity in action that I always had a huge smile on my face.

As I said, it had its imperfections. This is the first time I see a movie shot in POV, where we're actually seeing everything through the hero's eyes and not like a camera that's supposed to be held by the hero or something like that. And it managed to be amazing. A 6.9 rating is too low in my opinion.

it was a boring 3/10 movie.

the script was terrible awful.
you have no idea who the hell is this henry, who he was before, etc... you don't know nothing about him.

you have no clue who the hell is that arkan guy, why he wants super soldiers, how he got his power, etc..
all you know about him is that he had a wife.

the whole f... movie was about killing ppl randomly and it gets boring really fast.

i could do a better movie in my backyard with a worse camera without any money.

everyone knows the Times Square Cam right?
if they will ever release a 1hr and 30mins long "video" of that camera which shows us nothing just cars going on and ppl walking non stop. that would still deserve a lot better score.

If you played role-playing-games, plenty of them start with a character that lost his memories - this leaves room for players imagination to fill in with whatever story they like.
I believe this follows the same idea, to allow viewers to get into the character's skin.

I could write/play lot better songs than most popular artist nowadays.
But I prefer to complain about how bad their music is instead.

The target audience here is FPS players, probably more than RPG I'd wager. How many games start out with you waking up in some lab, not knowing what is going on? Getting thrust into the action, picking up new weapons, learning just enough story to keep killing bad guys interesting. This is a well-known trope of the FPS genre.

Even by the end of the game, you don't necessarily know everyone's motivations, but perhaps you figured out 'the cake is a lie' or something about Rapture's past.

The movie felt like a FPS where you're watching someone else's recorded playthrough without any deaths. The storytelling were just the cutscenes. Clearly there is disagreement, probably even among gamers, whether this formula is entertaining in a 90 minute live action format. So, the IMDB score reflects that.

So do it then. I look forward to attending your TIFF screenings, assuming I can get a ticket (I couldn't for Hardcore).

I really enjoyed the film.

I haven't seen anything like it before and the action and stunts had me laughing like a giddy child. Granted it might dip a little bit in the middle but it's rare nowadays to walk out of a cinema and think 'wow, what a rush, I've never seen anything like before'. I certainly didn't leave the cinema feeling like that after Star Trek 3 or BvS and they were put together with a far bigger crew and budget.

I've just bought it on Blu Ray and it will be well served in my movie cupboard. It's like a Hard Boiled, Chocolate or Warrior King that although not being the most polished, perfect film is certainly one that you will remember as being pretty damn mental and memorable.

If for nothing else, the film makers need to be acknowledged for this.
