STUPIDEST idea for wannabe 'artistic' filming style!!

Ok, we get it, it's different. But most people can only take like 5 dam minutes of this first person shooting style. I was sick after that, and couldn't even watch the rest! And if that happened to me, it happened to other people too. I am so sick of directors thinking they have to pull crap like this to be different. Like stupid a*s cloverfield. Could have been a much better movie, without the stupid "style" of holding a cam corder in someone's hand for every scene. It's been done. And it was ridiculous the first time it was done too I'm sure. Otherwise, it would be done all the time. STOP doing this dumb crap directors!!

Some people get seasick, that doesn't mean no one should enjoy boat rides.
First Person Point of View is the concept of the film. If you didn't liked it in Cloverfield why did you ever bought a ticket for Hardcore Henry is beyond me.

It's not "stupid style" or "artistic" it's immersive action. If you suffer from motion sickness you can get medicine like Dramamine and enjoy watching this movie, instead of being a bitching weakling whose brain cannot process fast images.

Just because you have a weak stomach I shouldn't be able to enjoy this movie? Go play some FPS games to toughen up big boy, this movie was awesome.

reply

Well those people who couldn't handle watching this movie are weak little pussys. ;)

your choice in language makes your argument even more valid....

We get it, you can not watch a movie with a shaky cam. I can´t eat seafood but that does not mean it is bad, it is just not for me.

Hardcore Henry did actually create something fresh and new. I get that you want to see it being more like any other mediocre action flic out there, but hey, sometimes innovation just pays off.

Hardcore did manage to be an awesome action packed ride with a budget of 2-3 million.

But if you are such a fan of innovation, why do your reviews sound so generic and boring?

...but they hung him anyway.
Hanged, Ami. Your father was not a tapestry.

Doesn't seem to affect me in the way you describe. I thought the running chase scene was excellent, the one with the parkour when the sniper takes the top of the guys head off. There is a continuous shot at street level that I thought very well done.

The "POV" style absolutely MAKES this movie. Without it it would just be a silly "chase" flick.

There are so many subtle-but-brilliant moments along the way, one would be a buffoon to criticize the director.

At the same time, it does have a similar negative-effect as the Paul Greengrass type of shaky-cam. In the latter case, it's a cheap substitute for good choreography, but in the case of "Henry," it's a necessary trade-off.

I enjoyed the heck out of the first 30 minutes or so, then had to turn it off. Well, that was mostly due to the complete lack of plot, not the shakey-Pro.
