The only scene that startled me wasn't even supposed to be scary:

I totally forgot the Warrens had a daughter, so when she randomly walked into the kitchen near the beginning of the movie I thought she was some kind of creepy ghost girl about to do something to Ed and Lorraine.

Am I alone on this one?

No.

There's a creepy ghost girl behind you nodding her head who agrees.

Lol, remember in the first movie, when we're supposed to think she's some kind of creature spying on her father when she goes in the Occult Museum?

reply

lol a lot of people at my audience also got slightly startled at that scene.

reply

The one time I really jumped a bit was when Vera's character is interviewing that ghost in his chair and the nun out of nowhere grabs his shoulder.

Same, I was like, what the *beep* is that thing behind Lorraine, and then was like, oh wait, their daughter.

reply

Nah. I remembered them having a daughter and was wondering where she was. And when she appeared I was just like "okay, there she is".
