I absolutely loved Conjuring 1 and 2. I like the scare and creepiness. I'm not big on gore and dismemberment - so I avoided Saw films... I guess I'm a bit of a fraidycat!!! :(

Wan only did the first film, it's not excessively gory like the sequels, it's more about the mystery, I loved it.

shareI've rated all of his movies 6-8, I really like his style. Haven't seen Furious 7.
I gave Conjuring 2 a 7.5 but rounded up to 8. It lost a couple points for being overly sentimental (as my ex-boyfriend liked to tell me when we were dating, I am cold and black inside - he was kidding I hope lol). I gave Conjuring 1 a 7. Dead Silence, 6.5, Saw 8, Insidious 8, Insidious 2 a 6 (nothing wrong with it? but it just didn't have much impact), Insidious 3 a 7. I really, really enjoy the way Wan films, especially how the camera follows a character so that we see what they see without it being POV (which I sort of hate). For example, in Conjuring 2, when Bobby (I think) was walking into his room and hears the truck in his tent, the camera follows him starting to get into bed a few times, then continues to follow him as he checks over his shoulder into the hallway. The audience can't see any more than he can.
