Questions about Movie.

1. One of the scenes that made me scratch my head was when the lady skeptic recorded the girl destroying the kitchen. She uses this as evidence to debunk the claims of the family entirely. But wouldn't this also mean that the girl was possessed? And thus be the demonic influence that was destroying the kitchen? It just seems as if the Warrens were quick to dismiss the case based on that recording.
2. I've watched this movie twice. I could never really come up with a good explanation as to why Valak was involved int he enfield haunting? My initial thoughts was that originally the house was haunted by Bill Wilkins. Then when the Warrens got involved, Valak imprisoned Wilkins to do even crazier *beep* and kill Ed so that Lorraine would not be able to detect the demon. But then it was mentioned that Wilkins wanted to be free and rest in peace and left when Valak was banished. Which means that Valak was involved the whole time?

Thanks in advance!

1. I thought the exact same thing until Janet said that she did it because the demon/ghost or whatever would kill her siblings if she didnt get rid of the people there. So i guess she wasn't haunted. However, even though she faked that incident, Ed had seen some things while there. Like doors closing in his face and that whole basement thing. It just seemed weird for them to just up and leave. Janet still teleported to the kitchen and suddenly had a knife in her hand, why did no one mention that?

2. In the movie Lorraine says that Wilkins and the Crooked Man are decoys so that they won't discover the demon. I didn't understand for how long the demon had been there or why it even showed up in the first place.. it's weird. I love you James Wan but come on..
