Anyone have spooky occurrences ever? Share!

Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, you can't deny scary and unexplainable stuff happens everyday.

One night I was in my pitch black room laying on my bed when I see the black outline of a girl with long hair move past my room in the hallway. The only light showing was from the bathroom down the hall, so I assumed it was my sister walking past my room, and my room was right next to the laundry machine where the figure was walking.

But when no other lights came on I got curious as to what my "sister" was doing outside my room. After 30 seconds or so I got up out of my bed and went to see. Nobody was there even though I can picture the dark figure walking my room ever so clearly to this day, and I usually shrug somethings off.

A table lamp that went on by itself. A mirror that fell off the wall, I had just cleaned it but I had checked that it was on securely, I very clearly remember pulling it bit off the wall and seeing that it was, and both the hook on the wall and the wire it had been hanging from were intact afterwards.

Also waking up when my blanket was migrating towards the foot of the bed, as if somebody or something was pulling it. It was not falling off the bed because as usual I had turned the end below my feet, and nobody was playing a prank because I lived alone. No pets either back then. I didn't turn on the bedside lamp immediately, but just yanked it back up and then waited and listened. No sounds. After a while I did turn on the light, then checked the quite small apartment I was then living in. Nobody else there than me. Went back to sleep after a while. Nothing else happened.

All could of course have completely natural explanations, but they were rather eerie when they happened. Especially the damn blanket.

There were years between those three, and all happened in different apartments.

I posted this in another thread earlier:

About 6 years ago (I was about 21/22 at the time), I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a shadowy figure of a man standing in the middle of my room looking directly at me. -- In panic mode, I stood up, and ran right through it to turn on the light. It disappeared as soon as the light switched on, but I remember standing there for a while checking every corner of the room before heading back to bed.

I know this was just a product of my imagination, since I was half-asleep, but it was still pretty terrifying.

There are a few threads about this. I've posted my experience a few times.

I've always seen and felt spirits and demons. This runs in my family. My grandmother saw them and all three of my kids have too. My mother and a sister deny it and I'm not sure if they just push it away or actually don't see anything.

One interesting sighting happened about maybe 8yrs ago or so. I was walking down the hall and passed my sons room. I saw one of our cats sitting on the bed purring loudly. He was leaning his head into a hand. Since a wall was in the way I could only see the edge of the bed, the cat and hand. I paused a moment and smiled. Then walked down the hall to the kitchen. As a passed the living room all three of my kids were in there. I stopped in shock. My kids looked at me and asked what was wrong. I was speechless for a moment and my oldest asked if I was ok. I found my voice and asked if they've all been in there for awhile. There was no way one of them could have gotten from the bedroom into the living room without passing me. They said they've been in there for awhile and again asked what was wrong. I then told them what I saw. We all then went to my sons room and saw the cat sitting happily at the end of the bed alone. They thought it was cool and my oldest went on to tell me she's been seeing a little girl in our home. Then my middle daughter said she'd seen her too standing in the upstairs hall. My son hadn't seen her.

It was not long after that we all started seeing the little girl. One day a friend picked up my three kids to go to a church event and my husband had just left on business. I was walking down the hall away from the front door feeling sad and lonely. As I turned the corner to the living room I saw in full form the little girl sitting on the sofa. She vanished after a second. It scared me for a moment but I realized she was showing me I wasn't alone.

This little girl was active in our home for years. She'd often sit near our piano. But when I'd read out loud to my kids I'd often see her out of the side of my eye come join us. At times though I'd hear her in my mind saying things like "you're like my momma." Or "My momma did that." I'd be cooking supper and see her standing near my looking up at me smiling.

We think she is linked to a piano we inherited from my husbands family and dates back to the late 1880s.

She left for awhile about 3-4mts. Then one day while playing a board game with my kids our dog suddenly sat up, his tail was wagging wildly and he ran to our steps then walking while leaping up a bit he followed something to an empty chair then paused a moment then jumped up in the chair and rolled over as if for a belly rub. My kids and I stared in awe. We saw nothing yet I knew the little girl had returned. She now comes and goes.

I haven't seen in her in many months neither has my kids but it seems when we start to miss her she returns again for a visit.

I've had many encounters like this over the years. I could seriously full a few books and might one day. My husband was a nonbeliever in spirits but he isn't anymore but he just doesn't like to talk about it and he's also made it clear to the little girl he doesn't like seeing her or being touched. When he was touched that freaked him out. I've never seen him so shocked. He was speechless and I just smiled and said it was ok she was just says hi. Lol

When you say it runs in your family, I am inclined to agree. One family member indoctrinates the other and the belief carries on. Your brain does the rest.

Thankfully though, if such a thing is inscribed into your DNA, there should be markers for it. Perhaps it's in your best interest to get checked out. You'd be attached to the most important discovery the world has ever known and likely be a millionaire. What have you got to lose other than time?

Amy, I experienced a few things paranormal while growing up. One or two later on but the crux of my "hauntings"/spiritual encounters happened to me when I was 12 and 13 years old.

I want your point of view on something if that's okay. When I was 13 years old my bed would move on it's own. I was on it but I was not moving at all. It would move in tight circles on its own and become very violent. So violent that it would push my headboard against my wall loudly. Do you believe that's indicative of a poltergeist or was it a demon? Something else? This bed moving happened every night for a year.

Thank you for sharing your stories, Amy. Makes me feel not quite as freaky if you know what I mean.

I've had some good things happen in the paranormal realm as well but the bed moving does still trouble me.

As for scary there isn't too many I've written here about a demon pinning me the bed.

The thing is ghosts/spirits can't hurt you. They are just passing through on a visit. A demon is different. A demon is still under God's control and can be cast out but a demon will wreck your life and that is its goal.

I don't know if this was a demon or not but it frightened my kids & I. I don't remember how long ago it was maybe 10-12yrs ago. My kids were young and nap time was over. We were heading to the kitchen to get a snack. Suddenly we heard very loud noises up stairs like furniture being moved. Similar to what you see in The Others. It was so loud I actually ducked. Like a crack of thunder it scared me bad. My kids rushed to me and asked what was going on. I told them I didn't know. I then said maybe our three cats were chasing something. Yet all three cats were in the livingroom even the one that always stays up there was on the steps. Our dog was barking and the noise continues upstairs. I took my kids near the front door and called my husband. He said he'd be home in an hour and said for me to check. It was nothing. He is use to hearing weird stories from me. Finally the noise stopped. It only lasted maybe 10 minutes but it seemed forever. I have no idea what it was and later when my husband got home he said everything was find upstairs.

Even though I've seen and heard things all my life I'm now at the point where I don't want to see it. I have prayed a few times just saying I'm done. I still find all the fascinating and enjoy telling people about my experiences I'm just done with it. The last time I saw something was a few months ago. I've written about that here too.

I was up on the fifth floor when I got a really bad vibe and had to leave right now.

I know this feeling. The house my sister and I grew up in always seemed fine (except as kids, my sister talked about "mirror people" in her room and she kept her mirror covered.) After we moved out, my mom turned it into a craft room of sorts. One night, I was looking in the closet for something and suddenly got that GTFO NOW feeling. It's as if every fiber in your being is screaming in perfect harmony and you're compelled so much that you're actually running before even fully forming a thought about why. I slammed the door shut behind me and I heard claws scratch their way down the other side of the door. When they say your blood runs cold, that's exactly how it feels. It's so sickening that it felt like my stomach dropped to my feet. I'm a scientist in both education and trade so I don't believe squat without at least some evidence, but I know in my gut what I felt and heard that night and I will never be able to be convinced otherwise. It was one of the scariest things I've ever experienced and it makes me shifty-eyed and jittery just thinking about it.

Every now and again, I've heard what I swear were footsteps in my ceiling, but for some reason, I never got the creeps. My stepson who grew up here has heard them too.

Please, go...Stop smiling, it's not a joke. Please leave...The party's over. Get out.

I can't say for sure that this is paranormal, but I was working an event (it was like a giant scavenger hunt across Orange County) at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. I was in the isolation ward near the back of the ship by myself at night while a couple of other event workers were outside directing teams to me. To get to the ward, you go down a set of steps, then down a long hallway, and the actual ward is in the back.

I was fine for the most part. I read some of the placards on the walls and mostly killed time on my phone. I had about 2 teams come complete their task over the course of 45 minutes. As I was walking back down that hallway to exit and switch spots with someone, I got this feeling that someone was walking right behind me, making sure I left. All the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I started walking a little faster. As soon as I got to the stairs I felt a small tap on my right shoulder. I bolted up those stairs incredibly fast. Hahaha.

But, like I said, this could be my imagination in overdrive, since none of the other people working there with me that night felt anything.

I worked in a mental health facility in a building that was over 200 years old and had previously been a childrens home... I genuinely 100% saw one of our patients at the office door, I turned around again to talk to her and she wasn't there. She was in her room on the top floor. It freaked me out for days, I was so sure I'd saw her lol.

Other than that, I don't think it could be classed as a spooky occurrence but I've had a lot of experiences with sleep paralysis and that has to be the most creepiest thing I've ever gone through.

My girlfriend and I bought our house a little over two years now but before that we rented a house in a different town. During that year atleast a half a dozen times each we took turns jumping up in the middle of the night in full trip out mode. I would always think I was supposed to go somewhere. My girlfriend always thought there was someone in the next room and would get up to check on them. Also one time she jumped up and turned the light on cause she thought she saw something in the corner of the room. Since moving into our house neither one of us have done it since. In the same room I went to bed one night and closed the door. I know I closed it and still remember doing it. My gf worked back shift. I awoke to her coming up the stairs the next morning. The first thing I noticed was that the door was open. This was a newer door that wasn't loose or anything. I never made too much of it . I thought maybe she was in the room already since she got home. That exact night my little guy stayed over while my gf once again worked back shift. He went upstairs to use the washroom. When he came back after a few minutes he asked me why I pushed the door open. I told him I didn't and perhaps the dog did to which he said " the dog can turn the door knob? " after we moved out my gf's step dad told us our landlord was know to dabble in black magic. Not sure if that meant anything or not but that house was creepy.
