Are some kids brave to face ghosts ?

i can only imagine every spooked kid will scream their lungs out and rush out of the house at every doubtful moment, will never ever get used to living with a threatening ghost, will refuse to sleep alone in bed / room or even refusing to ever enter that house..

however, kids in this movie, appear to be much braver than average kids, am i wrong, are kids of 70s era, or english kids generally braver ?

during the scene on the swings, the girl nonchalantly tells that the ghost just whispered to her, however she did not show any signs of heightened fear as the ghost was actually whispering ?

Not even just kids. People in general. I've always noticed this. No matter what happens to a person they just go about business as usual the next day, usually hanging out alone in the same house, often times trying to take a nap lol.

Well, she did encounter the ghost several times and is getting possessed.
