Do you believe in demons?

My mother maintains she was once raped by a demon. I have trouble believing that one, but I know she is scarred emotionally and has trouble discussing the matter without breaking down.

reply

No. She was either tripping on something or got pushed up on by a bad ghost. In order for it to be a demon then it would have to come from hell. That's the problem, being that hell is a bunch of irrational BS.

LOL You have all the answers don't you..

I honestly hate people like you so much. Believe in what you want but don't state your beliefs so confidently because the fact is you (nor I) have any ****ing idea.

No demons, no ghost, no vampires, and no gods. If anyone has proof of anything supernatural, that person could be a multimillionaire. As there is a lot of money offered by many institutions for that proof. Until proof surfaces, claims of demons are invalid.

If any of you want to see a ghost for yourselves captured on CCTV and featured on BBC evening news as "a possible ghost caught on CCTV" then simply type into youtube "skeletor ghost hampton court" from 2003.

Ghosts obviously don't do 'double blind, peer reviewed" evidence. And the million dollars for proof of the paranormal - stresses that such must be replicable within strict laboratory conditions. Hence, we won't be getting any scientific confirmation any day soon of same. Still, undoctored CCTV evidence is good enough to prove a person's guilt in a court of law, for theft etc., to the extent that a miscreant's freedom may be taken from him for the committed offence - so undoctored CCTV footage, capturing one on continuously running film, should, by analogy, also be good enough to prove to most people that they do exist, in the absence of any contradicting facts. After all, we believe other's CCTV footage (e.g., a commercial shop's!) to put a person away, so why not believe the footage for that which science cannot explain!? Look into all the facts of the case if you don't believe me, as I did, and you won't be able to explain what your eyes are showing you, using ANY conventional nor scientifically accepted explanation.

BTW, the sceptic's usual response to the Hampton Court incident, is to snub it as 'obviously just one of the security guards larking about in early 17th century garb...' However, the truth is that the security staff were all accounted for in another part of the building, nowhere near that doorway when those moments were caught on film. The building has extensive CCTV throughout given that it is an important historical building, and there is no trail of anyone's sneaking towards nor from that doorway to pull off such a feat.

It is, in other words, most definitely what it is.

of course there are ghosts. a beautiful female ghost woke me out of my sleep once. I tried to get her in bed but she said no and vanished. she was just d- teasing 

reply

Nope. I don't believe in ghosts, demons or any other paranormal entities.

That said, I have seen one of the infamous 'shadow people' (google it, if you're not familiar), and "walked right through" one in pure panic once; I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a shadowy figure of a man standing in the middle of my room, looking at me. In panic mode, I ran right through it to turn on the light. It disappeared as soon as the light switched on.

Now I know this was just a product of my imagination, since I was half-asleep, but it was still pretty terrifying.

No, I don't believe in the supernatural. It's fun, but there is no real proof that I can accept. That could change, but until it does, I will stay in the skeptical camp.

I'm sorry to hear your mother has that kind of memory, but it's more likely that it was sleep paralysis, and not a demon. Sleep paralysis can be really terrifying, it can cause dream/awake kind of situations, where a dream feels real and not be able to identify it as a dream, so it seems real. One can have hallucinations. Etc.

Maybe worth a looksee into sleep paralysis.

reply

I agree with the sleep paralysis...I used to get it as a teenager. Once I was "choked" by a ghostlike figure and growing up in a religious home I thought it was a demon and didn't sleep by myself for 2 years.

Dexter: I would give everything to feel nothing again.

reply

It wasn't sleep paralysis because this supposedly happened during the day. She wasn't in bed. Also, this happened in front of her sister who backs up the story.

reply

Not so much angels and demons but good and evil, yes.

Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet?

reply

No. There's a reasonable explanation for such things.

Still love movies and books about the subject though. Being a skeptic doesn't mean you can't enjoy a good scare every now and then.

I believe that there are demons and ghosts. Just because it can't be seen doesn't mean it isn't there.

reply

I don't believe in the Christian version of them, but do believe they exist, also I think they aren't always 'inhuman' and some demons are dead people like bathsheba was or TMWCB in insidious 3!

reply

Yes. I've written on here about a demon pinning me to a bed.

But as for rape by a demon I honestly don't know if that is possible or not. I am aware of The Entity case where a woman claimed the same thing and there are documented witnesses to the demon or entity even by the writer of the book. Yet I don't personally know if that is possible. Demons want to take control of your body and are known to physically attack in forms of scratchs. But still I've rarely read or heard of a case of rape by demon.

reply

What you went through is most likely sleep paralysis because you were in bed. My mother's incident occurred during a hike with her sister.

reply

I am undecided about demons, but absolutely believe in ghosts being deceased human souls trapped between worlds.

reply

I believe you Amy.

That film was based on a case where the woman wasn't raped by a demon, but by a man who was a sex offender when he was alive. Ghosts from men who were sociopaths in life, are alleged to be capable of committing rapes.

My understanding of demons, as reported by mediums and demonology experts, is that demons were never in human form, or originate from humans. Demons are described as being more animal in nature. And as Amy stated, they seek souls and not the flesh.
