So nice to see Hollywood back fun horror the whole family can enjoy, ala Poltergeist. Is it award winning stuff? Nah. But it sure beats that Paranormal Activity crap. I recommend taking your kids 12 and up if you're the kind of parent who believes there's a reason Hansel and Gretel is a children's story. Horror is good for kids if done right.
shareThat's pretty much who this movie is for, I agree. Hardcore horror hounds have seen all this stuff before, and are too jaded to get spooked by it. But my 12 year old loved it, and it's just right for that kind of demographic. I wouldn't watch the super over the top stuff with the family, but a good haunted house flick is great for that kind of viewing.
But I also liked the PA franchise, so what do I know...
There's nothing wrong with liking Paranormal Activity, the first one wasn't so bad. I guess all the sequels changed people's opinions on it.
