Definitely not for everyone.
Far from a chick flick, this movie took to a smaller audience than the cover makes it seem, a romance movie. I'm a 31 year straight male who feels like the dating scene is far behind me but also can't rely on just finding someone. So the family urging to go out and meet someone as well as reminding yourself to not be a loser really hit home. It's not always the case but unfortunately the moment you do get used to the feeling that you have to embellish your life so someone stays interested, only to feel like a liar and bam!, no second date...because you chose to stop communicating. The constant mentioning of their ages and the family (sister) being so involved is all too real. At least it was to me. I hate rom-coms and chick flicks that side with what the woman wants, despite how horrible she acts toward the guy. But this film felt like they reversed roles a bit. I rather enjoyed it. If I had seen this while in a relationship or in my twenties id think it was a *beep* movie. Guess I saw it at the right point in life. Early 30's, Feeling like a loser, not taking any chances, cant relate to the younger generation coming up and...single.
