the flow of film seemed wrong

i love simon pegg normally, something in the way this was edited did not quite gel perhaps.

some films come out like this one, where the lines are forced out, the characters were not quite there, the hook of joke is not present

i nether found it romantic or comedic.

sometimes it happens, you wonder is it the camera work, of the actors turning up on the day, committing to a role, that stuff, could have been the director each moment not quite it pulling it together.

When i saw in the extras to "Back to Future" they filmed the whole film with Eric Stoltz.

But right at the end they saw what they made, pulled the decision to finish it and re did it Michael J. Fox. They did that firstly because the had to money to change it even at the end because Stoltz performace was not fitting.

these days there is less money in it and so even at post production they know its not going to seem right, but they have to send it out to cover costs and give it hype.

this was not something that ever be watched again.

Don't blame the camera work or actors if you don't have a sense of humour

I agree. Something did seem off, even tedious at times.

Considering the genre (that of a romantic comedy), I had VERY low expectations. Can honestly say that this was one of the more pleasant surprises I've had in watching movies recently and thoroughly enjoyed the film. Of course, I tend to HATE romantic comedies... so the fact that this film didn't try to behave like the normal romantic comedy throughout most of it was a huge positive for me.

It could be better without the party kids running all to her house, somehow these scenes are so lame.

Overall it was enjoyable. Maybe the lead characters were too neurotic and so harder to relate to and cheer. Rory was hysterical though.
