I mean, come on. I know she lied but Simon Pegg's reaction was a bit ridiculous considering he was in his 40's

It was super ridiculous. I guess if he had said "oh" and there was never the insult slinging competition that would have removed a big chunk of the movie. But the way he talked to her was borderline psychotic and that really spoiled any aspect of him being attractive. Sure, he came to find her AFTER going out with the younger one and realizing she was boring.

His reaction was way over the top. Made him look creepy. I could see him going on a blind date knowing she was 24 , looking at it as a bonus , or maybe a possibly an issue. But when he gets all upset about his date now being closer to his own age is just weird. I'd have gone separate ways on that reaction alone if i was her.
