Hollywood Reporter review suggests a different ending...

than the book. I would be relieved if that is true because the book ending just pissed me off massively. It just made me question the point of the entire story.

Yep, I just saw the movie and the ending is different from the book.

Yeah don't worry, the movie had the by-the-numbers Americanised ending that you crave. The fate of the world decided by a fist fight and the good guys won.

Seriously, the book ending was awesome. It combined the futility of the situation with the twist of the virus not being a plague to wipe out people.
