Disappointed with the ending

I was rather disappointed by the ending too.

Just so everyone knows, in the book, the virus doesn’t kill anybody. It’s released one day before Langdon even travels to Turkey.

The virus alters your DNA and randomly renders a percentage of the world’s population infertile.

While morally debatable the mcguffin is one of the most elegant scenarios I have ever read. It’s a brilliant twist that I never saw coming or even imagined as a plot point.

It’s the kind of ending that people would talk about long after leaving the theater instead of the standard “Langdon saves the day” ending.

Otherwise a top notch film, some of those shot are breathtaking. and an excellent read.

Not disappointing just surprised. It actually makes sense the choice they made.

Oh, and Felicity doesn't blow up.

She escapes and makes her get-away on a boat. A chase ensues. Langdon catches up with her. She is arrested and later recruited by the WHO to help monitor and study the virus.

The original ending was one of the more creative and interesting aspects of the book. This change was more predictable in every way -- predictable for a Hollywood film, and predictable that Hollywood would have changed it.
