That was a hoot! 

A "slice of life" episode (with several slices) showing Peri adjusting to Earth and CGs outside the plot, with wackiness ensuing! And her getting close to Garnet like she did Pearl and Amethyst.

LMAO that she made a shipper-chart! (at least she used a whole episode instead of a minor incident like more shippers). Ironically enough, a new ship was made this episode.
Move over, "Amedot", Here comes "Pernet"! The fans eagerly awaiting her to fuse with someone certainly got a boost of hope.
(Even though Garnet came off as a bit of a creeper...)

Don't sorry Peri. I'm sure you'll get a new outfit after a regeneration like Garnet and Amethyst did.
Now hold still...

And hi, Opal! Didn't expect to see you here!

... did they bring in Aimee Mann just for one single grunt?

And good grief, we're not THAT big on poutine in Canadaland. I know, you need new material for mocking us besides 'aboot' and 'Bieber', but good grief, we had a robot Prime Minster for over a decade. Is that not exciting enough for you cartoon writers?

Anyway, it was a good episode, rather light on story but we could use a good goof-around after the turmoil of the past few episodes. It's been a great Bomb (when isn't it?), but I hope we get started on the main Drill Mission arc real soon.

Also, as soon as I find a screencap of Garnet's thumbs up, that will be my new avatar.

EDIT: I HAVE NOW ACCOMPLISHED THAT TASK.

I'm the opposite. The show is at its best when they're just doing "stuff" and here it showed just how exceptional it is. It's entrancing and I'm looking forward to the mission (and probably the dramatic fallout from Yellow Diamond), but I still love all the down time.

Peridot is a hardcore shipper. Every episode makes me love her more and more.

I'm still on board with Amedot, wholeheartedly. While I think Garnet can explain fusion in the best terms, I could see Amethyst's and Peridot's fusion being the most interesting while making the most sense. Amethyst is the farthest thing from logical while Peridot is more logical than even Pearl. Further, we see Peridot suffers from a Napoleon Complex. And WHO in the Crystal Gems in Peridot's height?.....yep, I could see Peridot being the most comfortable around Amethyst and succeeding at a fusion, when the time needs it.

The two remind me of a more comical Ruby and Sapphire. Amethyst was made for fighting, like Ruby while Peridot was made for thinking, like Sapphire. But, together, the two balance well and enjoy eachother's company enough to remain stable.

If there's hope for Peridot, will we eventually get Lapis Lazuli and Jasper on the team, once she come to their senses? Can't wait to see them all wearing stars in place of their Yellow/Blue Diamond's.

I wonder how Peridot's fusion will affect the Temple Fusion we're bound to get in the Series finale?

Why do I have a feeling Peridot turning out to be a shipper was a wink to the hardcore fans? Also, when I was going over recaps of the episode, I didn't notice a couple of things until then; such as Garnet picking Peridot up and holding her like a teddy bear as she was worrying about her outfit.

This episode was absolutely HILARIOUS, one of the funniest of the show. I enjoyed how the writers made Peridot fleshed out, funny, and likable.

My biggest issue with the ep was the line "You can see Homeworld's galaxy from here".

Does this mean Homeworld is actually in another galaxy, or just yet another example of popular media not knowing the difference between "galaxy" and "star system"?

Never say "Worst movie ever" to someone who's seen Highlander 2

I'd imagine they really did mean galaxy. The show's pretty good an keeping its facts straight.

I don't think it's too farfetch'd to think that Homeworld is in an entirely different galaxy. Heck, they'd need their own galaxy with the way they enjoy taking over an entire planet just for procreation. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Gems have a habit of "using up" their own homeworlds only to go on and claim a new one.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Gems were largely nomadic either.

Of the few locations stationed on Earth that don't serve a function, Pearl mentions the Lunar Sea Spire as 'an oasis for Gems'. Her choice of words implies a certain peculiarity for a planet we once conceived of as prime real estate for the Gems. That said, I think once a planet has been terraformed, the Gems don't so much as live there as they do visit it and use it's resources until it is no longer capable of either and just ends up as a monument to the Gems ever-growing empire (which does sorta fall in line with how Peridot describes the Gems as a race designed to conquer planets).

Secondly, everything we have seen of how not so much modern Gems but typical Gems live shows their lives as unfolding in floating structures, like the pyramid, the Sky Arena, the Handship etc. (how else does one justify the booby traps on the colony ship?); Rose and co. are the weird ones for having both a constant base and a land base at that.

Add in the fact that most Gem structures are largely self-sustaining (like the Sea Spire and the Underwater Temple) and you have a race who really have no need to keep so much maintaining their empire as they do just expanding it and occasionally visiting the odd colony.
