The animation is great but...

I don't think that's it. Afterall, what's the point of being an adult if you can't be childish now and again?

Seriously, though, where are you? Up to what point did you watch? The show starts out as standard fair for about the first 9 episodes, and then it really starts to flesh out its world and story and the emotions behind the characters.

Yeah, I personally love the show, I find the characters very lovable, but at the same time, I know of alot people who just can't relate to it, my dad tends to have the same interests of Film/Television as me, but hasn't gotten into it. Alot of people are drawn to black comedy nowdays, and 'Steven Universe' tends to try to avoid it.
