What are all the important episodes?

Basically the episodes that move the plot along. To give an example I really enjoyed gravity falls (here come spoilers if you haven't seen it) but I could do without the boy band episode. They made an appearance towards the end but without knowing their origin I would've just assumed they were a 12 year old girl version of the perfect guy but 5 of them.

I don't watch cartoons anymore and loose my patience with them if they are too 1 dimensional. (Cliche story basically knowing how it ends before the ending, immature jokes like fart jokes)

So rather just get to the good ones.

I wish I can go back in time and pinch those chubby little cheeks and tell you nothing will be ok.

Well, the thing about that is that episodes that seem like filler can have a big effect.

For example, the second episode, "Laser Light Canon", doesn't offer much, but introduces elements that are bought more importantly in future episodes. Or how "Watermelon Steven" doesn't seem very important at the time, but plants the seeds (pun not intended) for things that happen in the much more important "Super Watermelon Island".

I mean episodes including that stuff too. Per the summary of episode 5 of season 3 they are just playing baseball and I think one episode he tries to help Amethyst get fired from her job. Little things like that I don't care for.

that baseball episode is one of the best episodes of the series
it's also quite important to the story
I'd go with what everyone else has said and just watch the whole thing, it's a bit of a slog at first but I'd say it's worth it.

Well, it's important to watch all the episodes because there are important plot elements in nearly every one. Whether it's developing the relationship between Steven and one of the beach city people, setting up a plot point that may be brought back in a future episode, and even the new baseball episode has a plot element that makes it somewhat important to watch. Besides, I never got how people can't enjoy an episode if it's, "filler". If it's a good episode, it's a good episode, stop complaining that it's filler. Not every episode of a show has to further the plot in some way. Even then, most episodes of SU does further the plot in some way.

Couldn't have said it better.

I don't mind fillers one bit. I just have a very busy schedule and I can't really sit through the cartoon cliches most cartoons have. The ones where it's so predictable you know how it's going to end before it does. Or the cheap humor like a fart joke or but shot.

Gravity falls episode about Halloween in the summer. Obviously Dipper was going to try to do Halloween with Mabel but act grown up around Wendy, of course he was going to get found out and honestly it wouldn't have changed nothing if I didn't see that episode. But then you get the Stanley and Stanford arc and it was just amazing. This couldv'e been placed anywhere in a live action show, movie, drama and it still be good. There was twist, you could feel the characters emotions they were trying top convey and yea they did the cliche twin switch (which bill should've been smarter to figure out they try but I digress) HOWEVER it took nothing away from the scene. What I mean by that is this one line where he says he guess he was good for something. I'm getting teared up right now because it goes back to when his father said to him. Don't come back unless you become something. Without ever animating that with that one line you know the character carried that with him. That it always bothered him. That through all his schemes he never felt he was something until the very end when it was all over.

Anyway since no one can really answer the question I'll skip it. I like shorter shows for this reason.

Your inquiry was answered. There is no standard filler, there are no one dimensional characters, and the humor doesn't rely on low brow nonsense like fart jokes. If you already knew the series was too long for you, you shouldn't have bothered in the first place. Try anime if you haven't already, 13 and 26 are the most common episode counts.

Just because it's long doesn't mean I won't watch something if I feel it's worth the time. Obviously I knew it was too long, so that's why I asked if there were some episodes I can do without. If it's a good story, it's a good story, but I wasn't that impressed with the first few episodes I saw.
