"Kiki's Pizza Delivery Service" Discussion

I'll begin by addressing the elephant the room: I imagine some of you are disappointed in the lack of references to a certain Hayao Miyazaki movie about a teenage witch. Yet the title really didn't give us any indication there would be with the exception of the title itself. I'm not sure how they could've fit some in anyway.
Though we DID have Steven go all (modest) Astro-Boy on us, so that's worth something! (all he needed was machine guns in his butt and it would've been perfect)

Now for the episode itself: for a "townie" filler, that was fun and lively, just like a story in a dream world should be. Thing is, I don't especially care for the Pizzas as much as I do other Beach City folk...but they always seem to make things interesting. Leave it to Steven to make a pizza cutter into a deadly weapon! 

Though this should be the end of the fillers. From here on in, it's gonna be Gems and magic adventures for the rest of the season, so strap in and hold on!

Also...I think I saw "Animal Crossing" upside down 

Being a Dream Warrior isn't always a good thing, Steven. It usually means that Freddy Krueger ends up killing you in the sequel.

Those dreams would've been even scarier if a giant Pizza Steve showed up... 

*giant pizzas in the ocean* Yes, SU animators, we get that you like Eva...

They're definitely leading up to something big with the dream powers though. Whose will Steven invade next for a major confrontation and/or plea? Centipeedle? Jasper? Yellow Diamond?

Decent, if predictable, filler. It's been nice to see most of the Beach City crew again, although I could use more Mayor Dewey sometime. Not to mention the total lack of Garnet....

Better than expected. Kiki is underused compared to her sister, so it was nice for her to get some screen time.

I don't get the anime references, because I've seen very little.

Steven's gonna wear himself out fixing everyone's problems.

I could go for some pizza now.

I really loved how much of a sweetheart Kiki was in this one, and it was exactly the cooler/breather we needed before the next episode...the long awaited Monster Reunion! 😳
