The first half was fun, then second half was several kinds of pay dirt with Jasper becoming an evil Gememon trainer, Amethyst learning a harsh lesson, and, greatest of all, Stevvonie the Warrior Maiden (a lot of fanartist must be really happy right now! ). Add Lion helping out and bonus townie cameos and it's a really sweet episode!
What lesson? Not to fight Jasper? That Steven and Connie didn't need her at all?
I think even with training, Amethyst would've gotten her purple butt handed to her. Steven is technically the more powerful gem, he just needed Stevonnie's more aggressive personality to push him to fight.
Sadie's gotten so used to the weirdness. LOL.
... that last line of dialogue, tho.
I kinda dig Amethyst's new look, it's an immediate reaction of shock to Jasper 'Sonic the Hedgehog'-ing her butt quick. The Stevonnie victory was excellent, but I do hope that Connie gets her own solo moment of triumph sometime soon.
It's kinda just 'The Summer Of Jasper Mucking Everyone's Day Up', rather than 'Summer Of Steven' at this point, eh?

I agree amethysts new look is great and a love jasper becoming a more antagonistic to the gems actually being a danger.
Also who thinks from this and the last episode jasper would love Pokemon go
Part of me was a bit worried about Amethysts new look...probably because of a little internal dread at the popular fan suggestion of one of the crystal gems becoming corrupted.
