What if Steven is Rose.

Like...literally just a form a gem would take after they're poofed. If Steven can fuse and have gem powers, does that mean he can poof too? Would he come back the same? It bugs me because he has Rose's gem. And early on it was said that she gave up her form for him. So is Steven merely a part of Rose? That they cannot exist at the same time?

They have said many times that Steven is a hybrid, half human and half Rose. He is definitely not all Rose. He has aged. He is susceptible to normal human weaknesses (the cold, needing oxygen, sleep, food, and so on). Gems don't need these things.

does that mean he can poof too?

That question was brought up in "Bubbled", but we still don't know the answer to it.

I doubt Steven can poof. The Homeworld's gem destabilizer didn't work on him, IIRC.

On the other hand he can change his mass via shape-shifting, though not as drastically and easily as other gems do.

Didn't crewniverse did say that if he suffers poof required damage he will die

I have thought for a while that maybe Rose "poofed" after/during giving birth and the reason he has her gem is because she is still healing or laying dormant.

She split into Stephen and Lion and Greg just ain't tellin' nobody.
