Which story arcs did you dislike and why

I really like this show, however when it *beep* up it really shows.

In my opinion, the whole story arc with Pearl being treated like *beep* for lying to get Garnet to fuse with her was absolutely stupid, out of character, annoying and unenjoyable. I had little to no fun watching those episodes for the most part and I personally felt they were out of character.

Another issue that I have is with Kevin. They treat him like a villain and, while he is a massive douchebag that deserves no sympathy, I truly believe Lars is worse in every way, shape or form and somehow he gets away and is treated in a relatively positive light.

I mean c'mon!

Pearl and Garnet makes sense to me from a character perspective. Garnet is upset because fusion is incredibly important to her. Fusion is very intimate for the gems and more so for Garnet, who's chosen to live her life as one. When Pearl or another gem fuses with Garnet, they're not just with fused with Garnet, but also Sapphire and Ruby who are deeply in love. Pearl betrayed the trust Garnet showed her by lying about needing to fuse.

Kevin has been mostly uninteresting to me. He should have been a one-off character and I hope his story's over now that Stevonnie has figured out that they don't have to hate him.

Connie's existence as a whole makes no sense to me. If a big theme of the show is about being independent and loving yourself then why would they give him a love interest? She's also incredibly annoying and all the stuff with her parents beats a dead horse. WE GET IT, HER PARENTS ARE CONTROLLING. Also, why would Pearl teach her how to use a sword when Steven is clearly the one who needs more training (since he's almost always on the brink of death).

Also, the show totally went from an 8 to a 7 for me when they started fusing. It really confuses me that they turn in to a girl instead of someone a little more androgynous, which would have been way cooler to see in my opinion. Anyone else despise Connie?

I thought Pearl made sense. She was/is still so desperately in love with Rose, which was unrequited. When she fuses with Garnet she gets to experience the relationship she always yearned for semi-vicariously. I felt like Amethyst made less sense in that arc, brooding because she didn't get some sort of power boost high from fusing with Garnet instead.

I never understood the Kevin drama. His only crime at the rave was that he was persistent. They made it sound like he forced Stevonnie to do something non-consensual, which never happened. Given their ages it made the episodes feel way more creepy than they should have been. I didn't understand how or why they became so obsessed with him, considering everything else going on in their lives it seemed trivial.
