Absolutely wonderful!

I did not expect to be so enthralled with this film!

Bravo to Jon Favreau for creating such an exciting, fun, and colourful adventure. I feel like this was a remake done right, it kept the essence and plot of the story while blazing new trails of adventure towards the conclusion.

I feel as though this film is a bit of a reverse "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?". What I mean by that is that instead of an animated character being seamlessly blended into the real world, we have a real boy seamlessly blended into a fantasy, CGI animated world.

Not to mention the imagery. Favreau uses several visually distinct areas of the jungle to keep the visuals interesting. All the while showering us in a plethora of colours that make the film a joy to behold. Favreau even uses visuals to have a gag (the cowbell), and to reinforce themes (the men drinking, eating, and laughing while silhouetted by the raging bonfire behind them).

Obviously the voice cast was fantastic, with a special nod to Idris Elba for Shere Khan. His stentorian voice added a sincere level of threat, and intimidation to the character.

I could go on, and on, but I'll stop myself hear. What a wonderful film!

I absolutely agree. Truly wonderful. I even did a essay on it.

It was pretty well made. However, it actually seemed weird to see such realistic animals 'speaking'. I don't know why. I guess it's because they movie starts them off talking like normal people without preamble. The wolf cubs sounded too much like regular human children. Wolves that howl should sound at least a bit raspy.

Jon Favreau is simply an amazing director.

Iron Man and Elf are considered instant classics in their genre for a reason.
