What a pile of cow dung this movie is

The 1967 jugle book was so funny and had melodious songs and wonderfully presented characters and plot.
This pile of garbage is nothing like the original.
They have turned a funny children comedy into a serious boring action-adventure movie and rubbish plot

The original Jungle Book as written by Rudyard Kipling was a violent humorous action adventure. Still, the makers of this movie could have come up with something better.

I'm sorry but what plot was there to the original? It was just Mowgli running from place to place with no sense of connective tissue until Shere Khan appears about 2/3rd's of the way through.

Baloo, Bagheera, King Louie and Shere Khan were good in the original, but the rest of the film was merely above-average. I feel like people have way too much blind nostalgia for that film and overlook its faults.

This new version, I feel, has more of a story, a more engaging main character, character development for everyone and just has more scale to it.

To the other poster:

The original Jungle Book as written by Rudyard Kipling was a violent humorous action adventure.

And this film managed to be a mix of both Kipling's tone, the earlier Disney film and pure action-adventure.

I got through about 5 minutes before the horrid cgi made me turn it off. It looked ugly and was way overdone, to the point of being distracting. I couldn't enjoy the film because all I kept thinking was 'man that looks bad, why is 99% of what's on my screen cgi right now?' I couldn't focus on anything that was happening because all I saw was fake nonsense.

I can't even comment on whether it's a good movie since I didn't watch it. But turning it off after only a few minutes probably isn't a good sign.

Poor you. So unhappy. Judging a movie after five minutes. Why even come here?

I could never connect to the Jungle Book as a kid. There was no real story to it and the characters, while interesting, weren't interesting enough. I very much enjoyed the spin-off tv cartoon "TaleSpin", which completely removed Mowgli as a character.

This movie, while having crappy CGI, had a more interesting story and I actually liked the kid that played Mowgli. Having bad cgi doesn't immediately put me off a movie. If it did, I could never go back and watch any favorite movies from the 80's, 90's or even 00's cause no computer animated effects ever holds up with time. What this movie has going for it is good voice acting and an interesting story. It's only bad points are the ending plot holes (HTF did Mowgli get from the man village and back to the wolves that fast?) and certain animals being in the wrong location.

I actually like the darker, more serious tones to this movie. If it were purely made for tiny children, I wouldn't have bothered to check it out.

I didn't care much for this film either, it was very bland and by the numbers.
