Needs to end...
I mean this is a prequel and the characters are looking way older than they did in Breaking Bad. It is getting even more noticeable now that I am rewatching Breaking Bad once again.

shareI'm enjoying he series finally, but I think Vince Gilligan has made a brand of butter out of Breaking Bad and he's using the last bar of it called Better Call Saul and using it over too much bread to feed the masses.
He could have wrapped up the Jimmy/Chuck conflict in One season with 14 75 minute episodes but instead he and AMC plotted it with limited episodes every season AND they only do 1 Season every year unlike the Flocking Dead.
Now that we have a Pandemic we probably won't see anything until 2022
I certainly wished they would have wrapped up the Chuck/ Jimmy drama sooner than they did. I've enjoyed the show but mostly when the plots aren't exclusively Jimmy/Kim/Mundane Lawyer stuff focused.
This entire series I've been anticipating Jimmy going full Saul Goodman. Season 4 ended with the strong indication that season 5 would be that time but they decided to continue holding off with season 5 ending with Jimmy less Saul Goodman than he was when it began.
Honestly i was one of the people disappointed with the season finale as very little got resolved & Gus' uncharacteristic blunder making him look like an amateur didn't help.
It just felt like all they did was set up a rushed cramfest for the finale season in an attempt to tie everything together after 5 seasons of slow burn (arguably too slow).
Exactly. A lot of viewers want to see him full blown Saul Goodman before we get into the events of Breaking Bad. I want to see how he gets his law office in the strip mall. I want to see some interaction with Walt and Jesse from Saul's perspective. Instead the stuff with Lalo and Ignacio gets dragged out into the next season. I've said this in other threads, but it feels like they are gonna have to rush through the S6 to jam everyone into their Breaking Bad starting positions.
shareSo that's a surprise to you?
That they make a show 10 years later and the actors look older?
You are entitled to criticism but not something as unavoidable as this. There's no way someone looks younger by the year, someone human, I mean
Seeing this is a prequel, I was saying that they'd better end it soon or else they'll all be rolling around in wheel chairs by the time the show's finale.
shareI don't mind that they look older. I can look past it, and Jesse's actor was easily 15-20 pounds heavier in El Camino when he shouldn't (as well at the Meth Damon actor).
But I do think the series might need to think about wrapping things up. I thought Season 5 felt the most "padded". Lots of season 5 episodes that kind of went on slow tangents. Usually there's a payoff to these side stories, but this past season felt the slowest and even repetitive. I still enjoyed it compared to other TV shows, and there are some tense moments as always, but I also think this was my least favorite season, and it feels like Season 6 is about time to call it quits.
From what I hear season 6 will be the end, but now with this pandemic, who knows when we will see it.
