Saul isn't the reason I keep watching this show

I honestly really enjoy the show however, compared to Breaking Bad it's good, but not great. Three seasons in and it's interesting to see how Saul becomes a "criminal" lawyer, but it's just not very exciting. I feel it's being dragged out honestly.

I mainly come back for the side characters and their stories as well as just being in the world of Breaking Bad again.

Odenkirk is still great as Saul and the writing is great as well, but again it just seems like his transformation is taking too long. Walter White became a meth kingpin in the span of like two years? It just doesn't make sense how this show is seemingly going to go on longer than Breaking Bad did because it still seems it has a lot of ground to cover.

I want a show all about Mike.

I don't think they would do one since half of Better Call Saul is about Mike.

Based on where they are at now nearly at the end of Season 5, my take is the show is great but is a much slower burn than Breaking Bad (which was a much faster and intensely paced show). That being said I feel they could have paced it just a little faster and made the show 5 seasons instead of 6. just pick up the pass a little bit in the first 3 seasons and than roughly make season 4 equal with what season 5 has been.

A little deeper analysis:
Better Call Saul and Saul himself are not the same as BB and Walter White. Walter was always deep down a relatively bad person, he admits this to Skyler at the end; I don't think his 'soul' could have ever been redeemed. With Jimmy I think the show is trying to show he had a chance at being redeemed but his circumstances keep pushing him further into embracing a darker part of himself until he reaches a point he can no longer be redeemed (which he is getting pretty close to). Breaking bad and Walt's transformation happened faster because of who he was on the inside that became revealed to us and himself. With Saul he was not 'evil' all the way so him becoming the bad guy takes a longer period of time with more subtle events leading to small changes. Which is what BEtter Call Saul is, the subtle events and changes that lead Jimmy McGill to being Saul Goodman. Breaking Bad was not about a subtle transformation of a character, so the events could happen faster and be more extreme right away.

Well this show was never supposed to compete with brba so the comparison is a bit unfair. Do agree with your points but I think the point was to let us keep enjoying the brba universe a bit longer and I think it does a great job at that. It really had very nice moments and it's a testament to the show that people are even willing to compare it to brba.
