Season 4: Gus and Nacho at war?

While we know that Gus admires and respects intelligent people, we also know that he hates those who can't be trusted.

I have a strong feeling that Nacho and Gus will clash in Season 4. Gus knows that Nacho helped bring down Hector--and in such a clever way, no less.

We all know that Gus wants to draw out a punishment for Hector and torture him slowly. Someone like Nacho is too intelligent and too disloyal to be an ally for Gus. That, of course, makes him an OBSTACLE for Gus and one of which he'll aim to eliminate.

If anything, I'd compare Nacho to Walt in this case: two intelligent people who are smart enough to bring Gus's plans down.

What's interesting, though, is how this will play over with Mike. Mike and Nacho, while not friends, seem to share a mutual respect/understanding toward each other. His loyalty to Gus will certainly be put to the test and Mike may have to strike back against Nacho. It will be interesting to see this.

I've always viewed Nacho as a sort of Jesse-like figure in the eyes of Mike: someone not cut out for this criminal world.

Will Mike show his undying loyalty to Gus and battle Nacho or will he find a way to spare him?

We know that, at the very least, Nacho is still alive during Season 2 of Breaking Bad and in league with someone named "Lalo". What happens from there is anyone's guess.

The only reason Nacho went after Hector was because he was a threat to his father. Hector has been taken out of the picture now that he has had a stroke that will paralyze him while Gus is smart enough not to force a civilian to be part of his crew, so the problem with Nacho's father has been taken care of. I don't see any reason for the two men to go to war.

The directors made a point of showing Gus giving Nacho that look. We've all seen enough TV shows/movies to know that SOMETHING will come of that look. And that look wasn't a happy one.

Gus demonstrated once already with Mike that he will not tolerate Hector being killed. He forbade Mike from doing it but allowed Mike to continue messing with Hector's operations.

This wasn't the first time this season that Gus gave Nacho a look either--it happened in episode 4 in Los Pollos Hermanos.

Nacho is extremely intelligent and has demonstrated that, unlike Mike, he is willing to defy authority if he must.

Plus, even with Hector immobilized, Nacho could conceivable continue his side-dealing--something Gus does NOT like (remember Jesse's side-dealing in Breaking Bad and how Gus hated it). Someone as intelligent as Nacho could either be seen as an incredible ally or an incredible enemy to someone like Gus and I'm inclined to believe the latter in Gus' case.

Either way--SOMETHING will come of that look.

I had forgotten about Nacho's side business. Thinking about it, I wonder if this will lead to Nacho fleeing New Mexico after getting a new identity, which is how Saul finds out about that business.

Something will likely come of it. (Hopefully not what i think it might....) but i don't think it will directly result in a conflict between Nacho and Gus although it would kind of keep in line with Nacho repeatedly conspiring against his criminal associates out of self preservation.

I'm curious, what makes you feel nachos is disloyal, and how does that affect matters?
