The search engine here sucks balls
I type in 'Saul' and get nothing. I type in 'Better Call Saul' and I get hits. What?
shareI type in 'Saul' and get nothing. I type in 'Better Call Saul' and I get hits. What?
shareIt's a new site, still taking shape. I'm sure the search engine will improve after more essential aspects are completed.
shareStop making excuses. Lol
shareWhat we need to do is go to IMDB(or any actual search engine) and find the EXACT name of the film, then search for that. So basically, as we were saying, the search function is useless. I suppose I should have remembered 16 years ago and known the title of Monsters, Inc. had a comma in it, but like a normal human, I did not. Adding the period at the end did not help, and that was the title as I remembered it. So, I had to use another search engine(IMDB came up with the right movie after i typed "Monsters") that actually works, copy and paste the name into this horrendous search engine, and finally after several erroneous and silly useless searches it figures out what I was searching for once I gave it the exact title.
What a great search! That isn't a waste of time at all.
If you do not see the egregious problems with this site's search, you are in denial or obtuse(or both).
I noticed they rolled out their fascist censorship before fixing the completely broken search. Clearly they have their priorities straight...
Oh Boo-friggin-Hoo...
You needed to type three words instead of just one to get the results you were after, you poor wittle thing, you! Life is SO unfair, isn't it?
Search for "monsters inc". Should come up with the hit 2001 film, but it doesn't. What pithy remark do you have to defend that?
shareLol
shareWell, it worked for me. Maybe that's because I tried "Monsters, Inc" with a comma in the title...you know, how the title of that film is actually punctuated.
shareI am afraid you do not understand the concept of a "search engine".
If you already know the exact thing you want, you do not need to search for it. There is no searching. That is called accessing a directory.
If you type is anything near "Monsters, Inc.", is should come up. Instead it provides a bunch of random unknown shows/films with similar titles while negating the mega hit film that everyone is vastly more likely to search for.
Search engines, in my opinion, work best when you provide them with specific information concerning what you're looking for. Yes, in an ideal world, entering a general term (no punctuation, omitted common words like "and" and "the", etc.) SHOULD bring up what you're after...
But, I've found it removes any misunderstanding for the "smart" search engine if I give it the most specific info I can, if I happen to know it. This also alleviates aggravation on my part since I don't have to repeat the search multiple times from just entering a general term and then not getting the specific data I was looking for.
That doesn't make sense in regards to this sites search. The results for "monsters inc" are as follows:
Monsters University (2013) aka "Monsters Inc. 2"
Monsters Inc. As Told by Tsum Tsum (2016) (TV Episode) - Season 1 | Episode 5 - Disney As Told by Tsum Tsum (2015) (TV Series)
Monsters Inc.: Part 2 (2002) (TV Episode) - Season 1 | Episode 17 - Super Short Show (2002) (TV Series)
Monsters Inc Yellow Snow Cones (2017) (TV Episode) - Season 1 | Episode 285 - Nerdy Nummies (2011) (TV Series)
Monsters Inside Me
Of Monsters and Men (Soundtrack, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013))
Why would Monsters University come up(there was nothing even close to "university" in the search)? Why would Monsters Inc TV shows show up but not the mega hit film with the same name? Why does it reference the film(Monsters University (2013) aka "Monsters Inc. 2") without showing the film it is referencing and I am searching for in the results, and why did they omit the comma in the title if that is key to finding it?
There is no logical answer for it except; The search engine is hot garbage.
Whoever made this site really really sucks at searches and they also over censor everything. I tried referencing the classic film "The J3rk" but it would not let me post my comment for the same reason I used a 3 instead of an E, it censors it.
Yes, I noticed that. Err, no I didn't..... Usually when I do a search and one word doesn't cut it, I use two and so on until the search engine lady recognises what I'm looking for. In the old days I was known to even open a book to find out about what I was looking for. Ain't technology wonderful?
I agree. I tried to find the Monsters Inc board and it was not coming up at all unless i typed it with the comma, "Monsters, Inc". That is pretty awful. In fact, that might be the worst search engine I have ever experienced.
shareWow! Someone put all this work in to make this site for us to have a place to discuss things, and you guys whine about having to type 3 words, or omigod, a comma.
shareIt's called a problem. Fix it.
shareI don't know what software this site uses, but apparently wild card searches are off the table for now. Waaaaaaaaaa! Lol!
shareLMAO I know I love this site like it bette5then the old IMDb find it more user friendly people will always cry about something
shareIt is awful software. Stop making excuses for people. The search function is damn near useless right now. They should just have a directory where you can input the EXACT TITLE you want and it finds the page. As of now it is not searching in any relevant or helpful way.
The censorship on this site is also completely absurd. A really stupid fascist designed this site.
Then leave I don't understand the problem
shareMillennial problems. Hey at least you didn't have to leave your room, right?
