Yeah, I think that's about as close as they will ever get to putting a fictional disclaimer in. Whatever happened to shows doing that? I remember when every show had "This is a work of fiction. Any resemblance to anyone living or dead is completely coincidental" in the credits. I think the reason was to avoid lawsuits from people who might have the same name as someone in the show, but with this being supposed "reality" TV they can get around that by claiming they aren't portraying anyone else. The show is obviously complete bunk but once you realize and accept it you can enjoy it on that level.
