Season 3 Continues

They're back....

The engorged Big Toothed Whistlepig of Pawson County saw its shadow, so there will be 8 more weeks. Season 3 continues were they left off with episode 9 on 2015-08-08 (Saturday). This will be a 2 hour episode. Check local listings for time.

Currently there is no description available for the episode in the guide, but the title is called, "Bigfoot of Ashe County Attacks!" The exclamation mark is theirs.

So, load the shotguns, warm up the HD screen. It's time to turn down the lights and shoot that sumbitch to protect the team! 

The guide has updated and now includes a description for the mid-season return:

Cherokee Devil; Buck encounters a creature; a team member
falls under a creature's spell.

They renamed the episode, but it was actually the next to the last episode from season 3. My DVR showed it as first showing on 8/8/15. I verified that it was the same by playing the one I recorded along with the recording from my DVR.

A few minutes ago I started to watch the episode from the DVR and like you, found this episode to be nothing more than a repeat. Sorry folks.

Looks like Destination America (AKA Discovery Communications) pulled another fast-one by calling this episode NEW and episode number 9, which would have been the next episode in the season. This was nothing more than a repeat of the last two episodes (7 and 8) combined and was given a new title. It should have been called a Special, not the next episode in the season.

I just check the Mountain Monsters FaceCrack page and they were repeatedly calling this episode NEW. There were those that questioned whether this episode was actually new and suspiciously they didn't receive an answer.

While the second half of season 3 will likely air sometime this year, perhaps closer to the Fall, Mountain Monsters was renewed for a fourth season to air next year.
