Are you freaking serious?

I watched (or started to watch) this for the first time today, I am lost for words.

It's not meant to be taken seriously. Although it's not specifically identified as fake, it's pretty clear within one episode that it's basically a spoof. They never capture anything in their Rube Goldberg-esque "traps", the pictures that are taken of the so-called creatures are all strangely fuzzy for being taken with high quality cameras (and the pictures are only flashed onscreen for a second or two), and they tromp around the woods at night yelling at the tops of their lungs, thereby effectively scaring off any actual wildlife. I'll agree it's a bit confusing at first because it seems to be advertised as a legitimate show, but just accept it for the slightly clever satire it's actually meant to be. :D

Okay then.

Look for the formula posted here. Short version:

On the way to their location, critter is described as biggest/meanest most dangerous yet

They meet with someone that has seen it, no video or audio

They go out into the woods at night

They meet with someone with a blurry photo, video or audio.

They build a trap

They go out in the woods the second night, fail to capture anything and go home, vowing to get 'em next time.

Also, the second attempt always involves chasing the thing in the ATVs, while yelling.

It's just good entertainment

I wouldn't be surprised if the show is from the same group that do the Bigfoot Hunters(?). That show is in it's 6th season!
