Continuity Error

Almost every episode has the same continuity error. The team will meet with a witness who will claim to have a piece of evidence to show them. It will then cut away to a single member in isolation who will repeat that the witness has a piece of evidence and they "just have to see it."

I think the problem is obvious. When did this isolated scene take place? It can't be before meeting the witness because they don't know about the evidence. And it can't be after the meeting because they would have already seen the piece of evidence.

The whole show is one big continuity error. These guys make the Finding Bigfoot crew look like geniuses.

Do you seriously believe that "reality" shows shoot their asides in real time? Look at any of 'em and unless there is no camera break, a comment on a scene in progress by any player is gonna be done after the fact.

reply

Yes, but the problem is they are commenting on an event after it happened as if it hasn't happened yet.

reality shows shoot the entire show and then edit all the footage, no reality show is shot in real time

I get what you're saying, but this is a standard reality show device now. It doesn't make any sense continuity-wise, but they all do this in some form or another. You could say that they just filmed it after the actual event for dramatic effect and edited it in there, but the obvious fact that the 'actual event' isn't real either means that they could have filmed it before they even met with the so-called 'witness'. This show (like most or all of the other 'reality' shows) is simply a fictional drama presented in a reality show style, nothing more or less.
