Her voice! πŸ‘ŽπŸΌ

I realize that Emily Maitlis is known for having a lowish voice, but not that low. Crikey, Ruth Wilson sounds like they slowed down the video (or she was on testosterone).

I just started watching this and was wondering that myself.

I actually looked up interviews with the actress to see if she normally sounded like that. The way she sounded reminded me of Elizabeth Holmes, the fraudster who faked inventing a new blood testing gadget. It sounded affected to me. And sure enough, Wilson doesn't usually sound like that.

I looked up the actual interview Maitlis did as well, and I thought she had a fairly ordinary woman's voice. Slightly lower than your average female, but nothing that would stand out.

I wonder why they made that choice. Was it a feminist statement of some kind? Maybe she just overdid it. Probably should have just used her natural voice like the rest of the cast did. Otherwise, her acting was pretty good.

She overdid it imo.
