6/10: Solid zombieapocalypse movie

6:10

In short:
As an american sequel to 28 days later style wise, without being over the top (explosions) it gives you a somewhat decent foundation (note the difference in details and budget do show some).

In long:
Better than many (if not a majority) of the military "zombie" movies and it's definitively better than World War Z (2013) which for me was not good at all (other than depiciting a grey hostile mass of people - much like fascism is creating at current date). This does not depict the zombies in the same manner but not too far from it (the running somewhat intelligent zombie is in focus here).

Regarding the sound and soundtrack/score it's quite decent.
The cast is good (especially for the budget), some known faces show up again that have not been seen to frequently lately in decent movies.
What is usually the downfall in most of these movies is the cgi that is ok but not good. However, the overall effects are above exspected. Large buildings are used aswell as major roads with fluently mixed in cityviews that makes for an overall good impact. Some storyline elements draws similarities to "I Am Legend (2007)".

Pro's
• Solid production overall.
• Makeup

Con's
• Uneven acting at a few times
• Modifying the zombieconcept further.

[End notes:]
If you are a zombiemovie fan there are several elements worthy of noting - as the tactical defense the weapontrained individuals take part of which is on par with high budget movies (even though the shoots in themselves doesn't highlight that enough in daylight), with that capability it would be logical for them to take down more zombies (a logical flaw that doesn't play a large part for the plotline).

Ignorance is only a bliss if you haven't reached awareness.
My imdb posts are getting altered.
