Jamie's strategy at the end of season 6 (spoilers)

Was agreeing to go with the vigilantes really the smartest decision? He had a clear shot at their leader, Brown, and every justification for killing him. He was trying to take them unjustly, was untrustworthy and if allowed to live would just cause more people problems in the future. He should have taken him out. Probably at that point the leaderless dittoheads would have slunk off again. Even if they didn't, he had the guns and ammo to pick off the rest one by one until they did. Instead, he put both Claire and himself into a heap of danger.

It would be unhonorable to kill him like that esp with so many witnesses and will turn more of his own people against him believing that they are indeed guilty of the lass murder.
