DNA results

Anyone else enjoy that segment today? It was funny how some thought they were mainly one ethnicity and come to find out it was only a small percentage. Miss Adrienne had a little bit of everything. 

Don't eva let nobody tell you you ain't strong enough

It was interesting but Adrienne better not claim she's black to me with that tiny ass 7 percentage. Adrienne is predominately caucasian and native american. She doesn't know the struggles us black people go through and never will. She doesn't have to worry about the cops stopping her or beating her up. This girl has some privilege and has a better chance getting enrolled into fine prestigous schools while us blacks have to work ten times harder.

She's teasing, I'm sure.

I wasn't offended at all by Adrienne's comment. I think it's cool that she feels close with black people. She's half Puerto Rican and many Puerto Ricans have a mixture of African, European, and Native American in their blood. I had liked this light-skinned Puerto Rican guy in the past and he had naturally thick, kinky hair. He told me that people had thought that he was white or mixed.

I enjoyed hearing the results, not the reactions. The hosts were acting like they were becoming less human for having a white background. I thought they were above racial embarrassment.

reply

It was really only adrienne. This girl is white as mayonaisse and has the audacity to claim shes black when she doesnt have to worry about getting shot by the cops. Adrienne could smoke pot on the streets and the cops will just tell her "Hey little girl go home and stop smoking you can get in trouble in the future". Whereas Tamar, Loni and Tamera will get arrested and probably assaulted. Even Jeannie will get arrested because Asians get racial discrimination by cops as well.

reply

Loni was acting like she wasn't having it, either. She insisted her roots were black, and white ties be damned. I really don't understand all the fuss, and i'm black myself.

reply

Loni was being playful. She wasn't seriously upset about having European blood.

Ok, then.

What the hell are you talking about? Hispanics face heavy racial discrimination from cops all of the time. It doesn't matter if they're racially mixed, etc. Hispanics are profiled by police similarly to how black people are.

you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake.

What the *beep* are you talking about?

Can you read?

I enjoyed this segment of the show because im glad that finding out what your roots/ancestry DNA is, is getting more people's attention. It is something I find very interesting. I feel like they did it as a 'joke' though, to prove all the people that talk down on them wrong. Like what another commentor said in another post, this show has the hosts it does because it is going for a more ethic/diverse audience, ie. not white...yet i think all the dna results showed that they all had a little tiny bit of white ancestry in them from europe or wherever so, in a way, that 'counts'.

But all that aside, i wish dna testing and results could be taught and researched more at school, it is worth it, and shows we are all connected in some way. There is more to all of us than just our looks.

The more personalities you have the less boring you are!

 Very true.

Only mulatto/tri-racial latinos get discrimination. People like Adrienne, Ricky Martin, Carlos Ponce, etc will not get discriminated by the cops

I really did enjoyed watching this segment of the show. It was super funny and very interesting. I always wanted to take a DNA test. I want to know which African country my African ancestors had primarily came from. I know on my Dad's side, there is some Scottish and Indian blood down the line.
