Jeannie "thinking about" freezing her eggs

Like she said herself, she's not getting any younger and if she wants to have kids, she should get to it, but it seems to me like she's trying to psych herself into wanting a baby. I get that she and her husband were initially on the same page about not having children and now he feels differently, but I think Jeannie's afraid of losing him so she's going along with counseling and "thinking about" freezing her eggs, but she knows deep down it's not what she wants. What do you guys think?

I think thia happens more often than not and that's why some of us had a tough upbringing bc our parents had us out of, 1.Obligation to the spouse, family, friends etc, 2. Scared of being alone later in years, 3. Becauee it was an accident. She doesn't want kids, idk, but if she doesn't she shouldn't have them just bc he changed his mind, and counsling? IS SHE IN COUNSELING? If she is, its clearly not for her. BUT then again maybe after her coworkers had the babies and she's around them, maybe its making her second guess her earlier decision... you never really know...

Everyone sees what you appear to be, few experience what you really are.

What ever decision she makes, she just need to make sure its the right decision for her too. I know marriage is about give and take but when it comes to bringing a child in this world u both need to be on one accord mentally, emotionally and spiritually to make it fully work.

MrsJove, Jeannie and her husband are in counseling and have been for quite some. It's possible that seeing Tamar and Tamera with their children could have her second guessing her initial decision, but I also think she knows deep down it's not for her, but she's afraid of losing Freddy. She said the new counseling sessions will confront that particular issue and I hope everything works out.

I agree, vdw. If they do decide to have a child, who will raise it? Both Jeannie and Freddy have busy careers with a lot of traveling and time apart and I doubt either of them will want to slow down and stay home.

This doesn't have anything to do with freezing eggs, but I can see Jeannie and Freddie splitting up. Deep down in her heart she loves black men.

I thought I read in one of these posts where you said you were married?

I personally think Jeannie should have a child. I think she would be a good parent. Now if she really did not want to have a child she should have had her tubes tied and he should have had a vasectomy when they got married if they REALLY did not want kids. Now that not having been done one can only assume they both left their options open for a reason. I'm not sure what she is afraid of. Maybe their family life is not stable in terms of their marriage. However Freddy would need to do something with his job to become a father who is at home more often because he seems to be away a lot. Not sure what he does for a living.

I think Freddy is a nice guy who puts up with a lot from Jeannie so she definitely should consider it. But only if he re-adjusts his life because he may want her to have a child and want her to take on most of the responsibility. And she probably doesn't want to do that.

I'm surprised none of the other hosts asked her that question. It's a fair one to ask. I watched a rerun from September where they were talking about men having biological clocks and Jeannie said Freddy always has, but she doesn't. I think when they got married Freddy went along with the idea of not having kids, but he hoped Jeannie would come around at some point so they could have one. Her slight "turn around" could be genuine, but I think she's doing it out of fear of losing her husband.

Freddy hosts a hunting show. As for why she's afraid to have kids, she's said that she's afraid of messing them up or not being able to protect them from everything, but there's clearly more to it.

That and she travels a lot for work too. I'm sure they could afford a nanny to watch the kid, but I personally wouldn't want to do it if I was able to stay at home more.

I understand Freddy's rationale but I don't understand Jeannie's rationale. Had she told him - my tubes have been tied I can't have kids, he may have made another decision I don't know. The fact that she is adamant that she does not want kids I would think she would have made certain she couldn't have them. I think maybe she gave him hope that she might change her mind.

I think she should be afraid to lose her husband but not for this reason. Jeannie just seems to be a lot to deal with - from her own admission and from things she says and does on the show. Even Tamera them had to call her out on her behavior when dealing with Freddy recently. I think being on the show is good for her and helps her to see things from a different perspective. And I think being on The Real around other women who have kids, and in Adrienne's case who want kids and has a niece she is always doting on, has softened Jeannie up.

Good point. Maybe she thought as time went on she might change her mind, but clearly she hasn't. I can't imagine being in the position she's in knowing she doesn't want a child and that her marriage won't last because of it, but it's best to be honest and end it. It'll hurt like hell, I know, but it's better than wasting each other's time.

That might also explain why Jeannie's comfortable with not having Freddy home all the time. Do you remember what Tamara called Jeannie out on specifically?

Well I don't want to just say Tamera called her out. They all called her out for being the most controlling out of all of them when they were discussing being an Alpha female. She said she annoys herself because she is so controlling. See the clip below from around the 3:30 mark she starts to talk about it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbZC939Vdq0

There is a lot of stuff I notice about her besides the controlling thing which I don't necessarily see through the show. But through her stories I picked up on some stuff. She is a bit too real sometimes. And especially her constantly freaking out over black men. Like can one of her Man Crush Mondays be someone who looks kind of similar to Freddy.

That's why i think the show is good for her because she even admitted to wanting sisters on a recent episode and said that because of The Real she now has sisters. That's when they were talking about borrowing clothes and she and Adrienne were saying how Adrienne has something that belongs to her and never returned it but she loves it.

Thanks for the link.  I see what you mean about her letting it all hang out a bit too much sometimes. It's good to share and out of all of them Jeannie shares the most, but sometimes it's too much. She means well of course. Tamar is usually the first to ride Jeannie about something she's said, but (like the other hosts) she came across more sisterly in that clip.

"And especially her constantly freaking out over black men. Like can one of her Man Crush Mondays be someone who looks kind of similar to Freddy."

 And her comment about keeping "dark meat on the side" like she has a brutha or two waiting in the wings.
