Four Roses
Now that's a nice bourbon.
shareIt is a tasty little treat. Have you tried the single barrel? Very nice.
shareYes I have, and the Small Batch as well.
Truth be told I think the Small Batch might be my favorite, but the others (Single Barrel, and standard Yellow Label are wonderful).
Interesting how the series is set in Tennessee, and yet they're drinking Kentucky bourbon.
Good Kentucky bourbon knows no boundaries...

What's even more interesting is how they're drinking a bourbon which didn't exist at the time. :-)

For years, I wrote for a regional liquor trade magazine and always had an affinity for the Kentucky bourbons - Makers Mark as a late afternoon refresher and Booker Noe for hard core nights. But, I gotta say that Black Dirt bourbon out of Upstate New York is pretty great; lots of sweet flavors running through it.
shareGood find!
shareThat's strange..Four Roses is not sold in Australia. Should I buy Eagle Rare instead?.
shareMy go-to is Maker's Mark. Eagle Rare is good. Out of curiosity, can you find Pappy Van Winkle down under?
shareI have not seen Pappy Van Winkle at shops. I read that it's difficult to find and the most expensive brand. I have only tried Blantons and maker's mark.
shareBuffalo Trace is great bourbon as well...Of the Makers Mark - I prefer Makers 46, but the Cask Strength Makers Mark is pretty good.
For a Tennessee whiskey - George Dickel No 12 is top notch.
I tried the Bulleit Bourbon and 95 Rye Frontier Whiskey last month. Hadn't heared of the brand, but both are appreciated by Whisky afficionados - I recommend.
shareBulleit is a decent bourbon - never had the 95 Rye Frontier Whiskey, but I'll look out for it.
Sipping some Evan Williams White Label bottle-in-bond bourbon as I write this...For roughly $20 - it's a solid value that any bourbon lover should try.
Where in Australia are you? In Melbourne I go to the The Wigs Cellar in the city for a wide variety of hard to find spirits. They stock Four Roses for $76.95

Maker's Mark made a appearance (courtesy of his father after an abrupt visit with his 'step mom').
Hoping to see some Tennessee love with some George Dickel.
I loved it when I was younger, after I have seen it in this show i wanted to buy one but they had stopped selling it in Sweden :-(
