quarry's journey

i hate to speculate stuff early and i could completely be off base here but anyone else feel like joni has to go for quarry to transition? i don't know the long term plan for this show but i feel quarry is so much sloppier when joni is around and obviously his emotions get the best of him. i would put money on it that she will eventually die for quarry to progress. cause man we know he's capable of being this killer but he got so sloppy when one legged man surprised them. what do you guys think? or how do you feel the show will play out? i was thinking he was heading the hitman direction but i'm starting to think not. can't quite figure out the angle here. guess no one really can but we can guess at least.
