Great movie, but missed big part of story

Loved the part about Stephen hawkings science accomplishments and all. And how had he to talk to the compter through the microphone. But didn't the movie miss a big part of his bio? I know a lot of people think his stuff was junk, but for what it's worth he's a great horror novelist. Most of his stuff never worked as movies, but recently "It" has been a success. Just thought it was a big piece of his story to leave out. And had to have taken forever to write the books through the microphone. Much respect!!

Stephen King is the novelist not Stephen Hawking - are you joking ???

reply

Stephen King also wrote the sci-fi stuff though. A brief history of time. It wasn't just horror books. So maybe it wasn't worth exploring in the film.

reply

Stephen Hawking didn't write horror novels

reply

Yeah, the Green Mile wasn't horror. But It, The Shining, The Corn Children were all at least suspense/ thriller, at least in the movie form. Maybe not true horror but close enough.

reply

they were written by Stephen King not Stephen Hawking - what am I missing ??

So I spent 3 nights watching this movie and it wasn't really about the horror book author? Damn.... So who the he'll is Stephen hawking and what did he do to earn a movie?

reply

He could tell the future too? I thought he was just a scientist? Are you serious.

reply

he is a scientist - he is a professor of physics

A scientist, teacher, psychic, and writer. Man's got some talent. They could almost do 3 sequels, maybe even make one a prequel and two sequels.

reply

yes he is.

This is the funniest thread I ever read on Moviechat.

My thought exactly! It left me with the same feeling Titanic did, the movie was too much centered on the love story not enough about the actual subject. I wanted to see more science and less love, but hey it's hollywood.

reply

I was definitely disappointed. It was more like a Lifetime TV Network movie than a movie about one of the greatest scientists of all time. If we're not going to get much about his work and his contributions, it's more just a random biopic.

just proves that no matter what your accomplishments, none of it matters unless you're getting laid regularly 😎
