Well, the film is based on Jane Hawking's memoir, and there is necessarily a lot about his disabilities in that because Jane had to deal with them on a daily basis.

well, i think she and Stephen were joint lead characters. it is based fairly closely on the book, though the book is quite long and inevitably quite a bit has been left out.

You may be able to find it online; I got it from the public library, and it's a more rounded portrait of Hawking's life, presented by himself.
I would also think that people know more about Hawking's abilities than his disabilities. Very moving story, great acting and just an amazing film.
sharea film focusing on hawking's abilities would be very polarizing because a lot of people would have NO IDEA what they're talking about. i've seen some of stephen's documentaries and i'm lost 5 minutes in. to this day, i still don't understand 'inception'. LOL
shareI mean i think people know his research and what he does since his books have sold millions. I knew what his research was but i had no idea how he became wheelchair bound or when it happened. And as for Inception i am totally lost as well, probably the most confusing film i have ever seen!!
shareI agree 100%. They tried to do Hawkins's story minus the math and science. I hated this movie and found it to be an insult to the story of the greatest mind to grace humanity.
