I am not being rude here.. But how is it possible to have a child in such a condition?

As stated in the link below, ALS does not affect sexual function (in the film, Hawking has a line to that effect).

like he says in the film, "autonomic". it means the involuntary or unconscious; relating to the autonomic nervous system. basically, his ALS doesn't affect sexual funtion. i have spina bifida and it doesn't affect my reproductive system (although some days i wish it did. lol)
