The posts about female buddy films not working....The Heat made $229,900,00 WW box office, on a $43 million dollar budget...there are studios who would lay down and die for those numbers...and The Heat 2 is on the way..

The First Wives Club way back in 1996...$26 million dollar budget...WW box office
$181,500,000...but not another one until Bridesmaids...there is a market for these movies.

I'm expecting to see this board clogged up with a lot of misogynistic drivel for the next few weeks.

I wish they would keep it under control with a minimum number of repetitive threads.

But no, every misogynist with a grudge against "liberals" and "feminazis" and "political correctness" will be competing for space with multiple threads each, so that they can be sure that everyone will know how "clever" they are.

And if anyone weighs in with how childish and stupid they are, we'll hear their pathetic pleading about "Free Speech!" and how their critics are like Hitler.

Janet! Donkeys!

Hey, as long as the movie doesn't suck, I'll be happy.
But I wouldn't use box office to measure quality in a film. The Other Woman made a ton of money but it's awful and some actual great movies are complete box office flops.
I hated The Heat and Bridesmaids because they're just terrible movies regardless of the gender of the leads.
I have no problem with female buddy movies but the ones were getting are not any good.
If they make a good or at least entertaining one, i'll be satisfied.

I'd much rather see female buddy movies than another drippy romance starring Katherine Heigl.

What if a squirrel wants a sausage?

Can't argue with that. How she's still employed is beyond me

I loved the heat, I love female buddy films. Obviously the classic one is thelma and louise. I'd say, as a guy, I enjoy female buddy films more than male buddy films in general, crazy women are just funnier to me I guess.
