My only issue with the movie adaptation (spoilers)
There are no spoiler tags, you were warned in the title.
I loved the book, and when I finally saw the movie, I felt the haunting magic weaving around me. It was amazing, everything I would have wanted in the adaptation. I will admit that i miss the beginning when Margaret was in the bookstore, touching all the books and the interaction with her father, but I understand why it was best left out.
My one issue with the story is that Margaret's twin lived. The fact that Margaret had been lonely all her life made her connect with Vida on a much deeper level. Margaret never felt the real tangible connection with her twin, she was only a memory, a figment of her emotions that she can only recall feeling. Vida was a false twin, she also never had the real tangible twin connection that she so despretely wanted. She was only a substitute for the real thing.
I did watch the entire story of Margaret's twin and the story that they made in the movie before I allowed my feelings to get involved. I do know that things must be changed, but I feel like the twin connection could have been stronger if they had stuck to the book version.
ps, this is not trolling, I am open to all discussions of this if anyone is interested. I absolutely did love the movie and I look forward to pulling out my audiobook to listen to it in the coming week or two.
