On or around Christmas 2013.
shareIn Britain it airs Dec. 26, 27 and 28th.
I'm watching it online since I'm in the states. No telling when it might air in the U.S. probably on PBS.

What do you reckon the response will be from the US Austen fans?
shareI'm a US Austen fan who's read the book and seen the series. The series was better, but that's not saying much because I thought the book was really bad.

lst of 2 parts is airing tonight in the US on PBS. I didn't much care for the book, but I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel it on the air.
shareI didn't like the book either. And I do think the series is better than the book. Granted, this is not saying much.

Having watched the first part, I am in agreement with you that the series is better than the book. Pretty early on I just abandoned the notion that this was a continuation of P & P, and watched is a interesting little mystery about characters with a LOT of backstory. I thought the scenery was glorious, I enjoyed the period costumes and unlike some others, I didnt have any problem with the casting. I'm going to watch it through and expect I will get reasonable entertainment. I have come to the conclusion, after many years of trying, that I am never going to be satisfied with the way anyone "writes" Jane Austen. I really prefer modern takes on her stories (yes, I am thinking of "Clueless" and a little book that came out a few years ago, The Beresfords, which was a contemporary retelling of Mansfield Park.)
