Loved the book
Loved the book, but let's face it, without Colin Firth as Darcy, how can this possibly be good? To be fair, I haven't seen it, so will I eat my words when I do?

shareMatthew Rhys is an excellent Mr Darcy.

He's going to be 40 in November. No way can he get away with playing a 28-year-old.

I get what you're saying. He was very good as Darcy.
And this is from someone who's not a big fan of Firth as Fitzwilliam Darcy. He was, however, wonderful as Mark Darcy.

I agree. I preferred Rhys to Firth in the role. I always thought Firth wouldn't have won half as many hearts if they hadn't done that wet shirt scene (which did nothing for me).
shareI haven't had a chance to track down this series, but in the book of Death Comes To Pemberly, Darcy is 34.... If that helps make the casting more believable.
