The stupid guy gets his leg ripped open by the bear and the girl kept telling him "it's okay". No it's not okay! Why do people use this incredibly lame reply? I guess if I get hit by an 18 wheeler just telling me "it's okay" will make me feel better.
It is meant to calm you down and attempt to prevent shock. It is rule 1 for first responders. Or would you prefer someone come out and just shout "OH *beep* MAN, your gonna die. Just give up, there is no point in even trying." ?
